Work inspired by wall mural at Russell-Cotes Museum and Galleries, Bournmouth

As a member of QuayCrafts, we had the wonderful opportunity to make contemporary work in response to the museum, galleries and location. on the cliff at Bournemouth..

The mural painting by John Thomas in the dinning room was my inspiration and research resulted in a series of pieces derived from peacocks and pomegranets.. Looking at other art forms revealed a fascinating history of ceramics, paintings, textiles and graphics that incorporated peacoch designs.. My screen decoration began as a paper collage with stencil and paint additions. The collage was photographed and printed as giclee prints for the screen.

Floor cushions with printed silk panels and two hand stitched textiles were also created.
