open studios 2016

This year our Society again took part in the Isle of Wight Arts 'Open Studios'.  We participated for three days and stunning displays of our members’ work were set up in the Trinity Church Hall, where we have our regular workshops.  There was a variety of subjects and media and it is always interesting for the public to see 'collections' of people's work, displaying distinct personal styles and ‘artists at work’, as a change to usual exhibition format.

We attracted over 100 visitors during the three days.  Reflecting a general trend, sales were lower than last year but we sold 3 pictures, a number of handmade cards and a painted glass vase. Visitors were very appreciative of our efforts and there are some glowing compliments in the comments book, including “A lovely exhibition as always and so reasonably priced”, “Inspirational” and “very productive Group”.
