Pottery
In most of these pots the base glaze is a khaki green colour, breaking to a rusty red in parts. Rutile (mixed with water) is brushed over the base glaze using hake and chinese brushes, followed by some brushwork in iron oxide. The results are dependent upon the thickness of glaze and strength of the rutile., as well as temperature of firing (1260°C - 1280°C).
