Knitted Patchwork
This piece is made from recycled rope found on Isle of Wight beaches. It's deconstructed and then knitted into pieces to make a patchwork blanket. I liked the idea of making something domestic to repurpose this rope. It is a work in progress as I was hoping to make it bigger! I am really pleased with how its turned out so far as you never know what to expect from looking at a piece of old rope. The wear and tear from being tossed in the sea, the bleaching by the sun of the outer layers and things like rust leaching it all make it a wonderful surprise.
