I am a Machine Embroidery Artist who uses a sewing machine to blend and mix colours to create realism in my work which is inspired by nature and landscapes.
Originally from Lancashire, I studied BA (hons) Design Crafts at Herefordshire College of Art and Design in which I specialised in Machine Embroidery. I dabbled in Embroidery in the decade following my education before joining a Lancashire based textile group who exhibited in the North West before moving to the Isle of Wight in 2013 with my family.
I use my sewing machine to heavily embroider using different stitches, thread tension and colours to create detailed pieces. I push myself to include more details, more perspective, more layers with every piece of work I make. Sometimes I include applique within my work, sometimes it is purely stitch.
Winner of the 2015 Madeira Embroidery competition, 2016 is the year in which I will take my work to the mainland. I will be exhibiting at the following events;
March - Country Living Magazine Spring Fair in Islington, London,
April - British Trade Craft Fair in Harrogate, Yorkshire
May - Hopeful and Glorious Craft fair in Lytham St Annes, Lancashire
