Nicholas Rapson Jewellery
I make a range of jewellery inspired by nature, especially the seaside and the coast using gold and silver and many different coloured stones.
I grew up in a little fishing village called Topsham on the Jurassic coast where I learned to love the natural environment of the coast and the seaside with its changing moods and amazing diversity of wildlife. These have been the principal sources of inspiration for my designs during the 30 years that I have been making jewellery. I trained at the City Lit in London and belong to the London based jeweler's collective, the Keeley Street Set.
I specialise in using unusual, sometimes native unprocessed semi-precious and precious stones and inlaying gold into silver.
I have just moved to the Island from Cambridge and and am overjoyed to be back by the sea. At the moment my workshop is in a pile of boxes but I plan to be making again soon
