Helleborus niger - Christmas Rose
This painting demonstrates how difficult it is to paint white flowers on a white background. My botanical paintings on the whole are a mixture of plants from my garden and more exotic specimens. They are in the traditional style of watercolour on hot-pressed paper with some watercolour on vellum which is a challenge all on its own.
