After many years of teaching Art and Design, specialising in Textiles,to adults and later to children with profound and multiple learning difficulties I have recently changed direction. I am now developing work with textiles and creating creatures inspired by my life by the sea. At the present time,my work has developed using dye, print and stitch. This now forms the base point and relates to both the ever changing coastline and my current travels in Japan and China interpreted through indigo dyeing and rust printing to release images for stitch.

This year, as Artist in Reidence, with Guy Eades at the Botanical Gardens in Ventnor I had the unique and privileged opportunity to develop natural dyeing. Using selected varieties  of eucalyptus, of which there are 37 in the Gardens I embarked on an experimental programme using eco dye on natural fabrics.

As this was such a success both for my work and for the many visitors who dropped in  combined with  there being  so much more to explore I have been asked and I readily accepted an extension to the Residency until April
