Margaret Catherine Moore (Gaffney)

I specialise in intaglio and mono printing techniques. My recent work expresses the fragile and transient qualities of the environment and humanity through images of dance music and landscape.


I am a printmaker / painter. I studyied fashion design at Salford college of Art , Fine art at Rochdale college of Art and Gloucestershire College of art .and finaly teaching at Middlesex poly .I have had my own printmaking workshop firstly at Arreton Craft Centre then the Quay Arts Centre and now at home in Wootton. Untill recently I taught part time for the Isle of Wight College, adult leasure classes, vocational classes ,in health units and later in the prisons Twenty five years ago I Joined the Quay Crafts and have exhibited my work in all of thier group exhibitions.The most recent exhibition at the Quay Arts Centre was last summers exhibition celebrating twenty five years of the group.Recently I exhibited my work further afield at the Brick lane Gallery in Febuary 2012 and in September 20th to 23rd 2012 I wil have a solo show at The Brentford Gallery, London .

I use most methods of printmaking but most of my prints are either intaglio and monotypes and they include elements of landscape, people,citys and the sea Recently I have expressed the changeing fragile qualities of our environment ,the transient quality of human activity and our enjoyment of the momnent through images of dance performance, sea and landscape.
